The Army Chief Bipin Rawat issued a stern warning a few months ago to over ground workers to terrorists & stone pelters a few months ago & said,
“Those who obstruct our operations during encounters and aren’t supportive will be treated as over-ground workers of terrorists. soldiers would not hesitate to fire on stone pelters if anti-terror operations were obstructed in any way. ”
And This Warning Turned into reality today when Intense clashes erupted in Gabarpora Haal village of district Pulwama soon after the funeral prayers of 17-year-old Akeel Ahmed Bhat concluded. Akeel succumbed to injuries at SKIMS Hospital, Srinagar on Wednesday morning. people in Gabarpora including women and children took to streets and pelted stone on the forces deployed in the village. However, the forces resorted to heavy smoke shelling to disperse the protesting people.

Clashes also erupted in Batapora area of Shopian district where seven people including five students of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School were injured. In Memandar area of the district, four people suffered injuries due to pellets during the clashes with forces, according to hospital sources. As usual pellet guns played a vital role again in controlling the stone pelting crowd.
Survivors of firing by forces narrated the story. Among the seventeen injured admitted to SMHS hospital, 9 are battling with severe damage to their vital organs. The close shave with death caused by the bullet injuries is evident on their faces. Doctors say most of the bullet victims have been hit above their waste.
One survivor, Sakeena, of Narbal Pulwama, says that army and police barged into their house and fired indiscriminately towards the family members. She was hit in both legs and left unconscious. “It was a cruel act as army fired indiscriminately at us,” she says. Another victim, Ajaz Ahmad Dar, of Pulwama has bullet injuries in his abdomen. Doctors say that his vital organs have been impacted. “The bullet has affected his internal organs. We are accessing the specific damage. We have to do multiple surgeries to keep him out of danger,” a doctor said.
Shahid Ahmad, 17, Admitted in the surgical emergency at SMHS Hospital for a bone perforation in his thigh due to a bullet, he is being “closely monitored”.
“The injury has damaged his bone. Though we have stabilized him, he needs orthopedic consultation,” said a doctor. Ahmad, from Kakpora, was injured outside his friend’s house at Narbal Pulwama when army allegedly targeted him after killing the militants in Hakripora, nearly 2 Km from the Village.
